5 Instagram accounts that will make you want to visit Florence

Florence is exquisite, and here’s a look at five Instagram accounts that showcase the dreamy allure of the Tuscan capital.

It’s no secret that Florence is special. Whether or not you’ve been there, there’s no denying the intrigue that the Tuscan capital holds. Nestled between those fabled cypress-tree-topped rolling Tuscan hills, Florence’s beauty isn’t just scenic. It’s the capital of the Renaissance after all, and an art lovers’ paradise.  And as to be expected from any major Italian city: Home to some delightful restaurants that specialize in the region’s cuisine.

Every now and again, everyone needs a Florence fix, so–in no particular order–here are five Instagram accounts to get your Florence fill. They will also make you want to visit the city, too, so follow them!

1. @meandtuscany

Francesca is a Florence-based Tuscany explorer. The soft yet warm colors on her feed will have you longing for a few days under the Tuscan sun ASAP. From rolling green hills as far as the eye can see to those charming Florentine cityscapes, you’ll fall in love with Florence many times over via her Instagram feed.

2. @mattiamarasco

Mattia Marasco is a Florence-based photographer and storyteller. His thoughtful Instagram feed showcases gorgeously raw moments captured in his beloved city, like a couple stealing a kiss along the Arno or a sartorially splendid gentleman reading a book against the backdrop of one of the city’s famous churches. His Florence simply shines and if you take one scroll through his feed, you’ll have the city on your mind all the livelong day.

Elena Farinelli loves Florence and it shows! She’s been blogging about her love for Firenze on Io Amo Firenze, her appropriately named blog, since 2006. Whether it’s the Ponte Vecchio at night under a sky full of glistening stars, heartwarming Christmas decor or people just having a moment, Elena’s Instagram feed showcases Florence in all its magical glory.

4. @florence.apictureaday

Alberto’s quite literal Instagram name sums up his Instagram perfectly: A daily picture of Florence. However, his feed isn’t chock full of the wide familiar cityscapes we all know and love. Instead, he takes a rather different perspective by highlighting gorgeous blink-and-you’ll-miss-it architectural details in stunning muted shades. Sigh.
