12 of the most Instagrammable places in Dubai

This impressive emirate represents all things new, and we couldn’t resist taking a look at 12 places in Dubai that warrant a slot in your Instagram feed.

Dubai is one of those cities that you really have to see to believe. Whether you’re in town for a stopover or longer, you’re in for a treat. No photos–as jaw-dropping as they might be–can actually prepare you for seeing the city for the first time, but they can sure be convincing! Here’s a look at 12 of the most Instagrammable places in the opulent emirate.

1. The Burj Khalifa

The world’s tallest structure, the Burj Khalifa towers over the city’s already colossal skyscrapers at 2,717 feet. From afar or from the top, the options for snapping this landmark are endless.

2. The Gold Souk

This market features more than 380 gold, diamond, and platinum, and will most certainly brighten up and bling out your feed. And, for those of you who care, it will do wonders for your engagement.

3. The Dubai Marina

The Dubai Marina is a neighborhood constructed on a two-mile stretch of shore flanked by unbelievable glossy skyscrapers. In addition to the hundreds of moored boats and yachts, the marina is the backdrop for many water activities as well as the world’s longest urban zipline. From above or below, the angles of this cityscape are endlessly flattering.

4. The Burj al Arab

An emblem of Dubai, this sail-shaped building, one of the world’s most distinct and imaginative, always looks lovely on Instagram. The Burj al Arab houses a luxury hotel, but the top floor is open to the public for cocktails or tea. It’s best to reserve in advance.

5. The Dubai Fountains

Located at the Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountains prance and dance nightly every 30 minutes starting at 6 pm until 11 pm as well as a couple of times in the afternoon. It’s a brilliant spectacle of water, illuminations, and atmospheric tunes. Don’t miss it, and have your camera ready.

6. The Palm Jumeirah

Perhaps one of Dubai’s most intriguing aspects is the Palm Jumeirah, a man-made palm-tree shaped island in the Persian Gulf. A visit to the Palm is a must, especially for the view of Atlantis across the way. Though you’ll find plenty of fodder for your feed on the ground, the Palm is best seen from far away and/or above for the full effect. Some of the best places to snap a shot of The Palm in its entirety include from Atlantis, The Observatory Bar and Grill in the Dubai Marina, the Dubai Marina itself, from a helicopter, or while skydiving!

7. The Dubai Creek

Dubai isn’t all brand spanking new…the Dubai Creek is a saltwater inlet that’s been around since antiquity. Snap the dhow boats and abras as they cruise past, and cross the creek in one of the latter. The fare is just one dirham.

8. The spice souk

I love me some souk vibes, especially when spices are involved–the animated hawkers, the buzz of the customers, the enticing aromas, and the overflowing kaleidoscopic array of flavors and seasonings. Many of these goods go beyond gustatory and have remedial purposes.

9. The Dubai Frame

The world’s largest picture frame, the Dubai Frame divides the old town from the new. Glimpsing through one side captures the unmistakable skyline while a peek through the other offers a view of the city’s older neighborhood. The attraction is complete with a museum that shows the evolution of the astounding emirate.

10. Cayen Tower

Among the myriad skyscrapers in this remarkable city of superlatives, one is likely to catch your eye: The Cayen Tower. This residential building along the Dubai Marina spirals up to twist 90 degrees, a mesmerizing sight to behold.

11. The Dubai Desert

With its undulating golden dunes as far as the eye can see, the Dubai Desert offers countless adventures that give you the perfect excuse to get out of the city. Explore this mesmerizing natural expanse and stock up on some #latergrams while you’re at it.

12. Dubai Miracle Garden

The world’s largest natural flower garden, Dubai Miracle Garden features landscaping and flora in shapes and sizes that will leave you in awe. From airplanes to elephants to castles and everything in between, your senses–and your feed–are in for an unforgettable dazzle.
